My DR wants me to have one of those. How was it. Please explain it to me. Your symptoms sound just like mine. I will have to tell DR about this Larnygeal thing and see what he says. I have virtually exhausted all my avenues for treatment of this cough.

Well, it wasn't good. Most people don't have any problems and the procedure should only take a few minutes. You can stop any time you feel uncomfortable. My experience was an entirely different matter. The scope used was the rigid type, a good 12 inches long and I kept gagging. I was OK until the darned thing hit what felt like the back of my throat. The technician finally figured out that my uvula was extremely long and in the way. She just couldn't push it aside to see my vocal cords. Apparently it is in a race with my breasts to see which will reach my knees first! So now I will have to have surgery to shorten the uvula first, then they will be able to see my vocal cords. Still, in the end, it doesn't seem like there is any other treatment for the laryngeal asthma besides the lidocaine in the nebulizer and breathing exercises to relax the vocal cords.
