as far as daily postings go but will still post when I go down a step to the 14 mg. patch, 7 mg. patch, or other major steps along the way. I just don't want to clog up the board on days that I've really nothing to say. I would now rather help others if I can. I want to really thank those that have helped me get this far - Laurie, Deda, Invinc., jc001, eightball, etc. and I'm sure that I'm leaving out some.
I'm doing fine and see no reason why I should not beat this tobacco demon. I always have the reasons why I quit in the first place fresh in my mind and on paper that I carry in my wallet. (I have pulled them out and re-read them on several occasions in the last 3 weeks.)
I'm fixin' (as well say in Alabama) :) to take my 4 year old daughter fishing. So I hope eveyone is having a great weekend and I'll talk to you later.
Take care everyone,
Dave

Come on now Dave, you're not clogging up the boards, okay!!! :) And just to let ya know, you are already helping others here with your posts, just by showing others how you quit, and what you are going through in the first few weeks of quitting. There's probably been a few people that have read your posts and thought, well if he could do it, then I can too. Or they have read how the patch has helped your quit, or your idea of your list of reasons tucked in your wallet, taken out and read when you need a reminder, and thought, now there's an idea I'll try. Every post here helps another person. So...go Dave! And yes, please do post when you do reduce from 21 mg patch to 14 patch, I'm sure many people will be interested.
This boards been dead for 2 days now, not much action here. Must be cuz the weather is warming up all over. :D 80 degrees heres today...woo-hooo, and I was thrilled!! Went to lunch with my DH and then we went to see Mel's Passion movie, what a great day! And you...didja catch any fish? We'll be going up to the mountains in a month or so looking for some trout in our lil boat, can't wait!! It was nice coming out of movie theatre today without sticking a cig in my mouth the second I came out the door! Didn't have to be ashamed and didn't see one single smoker outside the movie theatre or the restuarant...things sure have changed in the last few years. Good.
Keep going Dave...

HIIIIIIIIIIIII DAVE/DEDA and ALL :)
Yes, I've been busy lately but you're always in my thoughts. Dave I'm just too impressed with your success - I really think once you get the strength, courage, and commitment - no one or nothing can break you.
Yes I'm still smoke free and it's been (adding right now lol) 112 days now - be four months in a week. :) Amazing how time flies huh? My Dad said "why are you still counting - I think you should stop." So I told him at 4 months I'd prob. stop counting the days, but honestly I don't really anyway unless someone or something makes me thing about it.
I've even had lunch with friends where they smoked. I did have to get in their &*&( a few times and ask them to please move their cancer stick since it was going directly into my face (thought I was gonna die lol). Moreso - I didn't want to stink. LOL
Don't forget how much misery loves company. I know a few of my friends let jealousy get in the way because certain accidents I don't believe in ...like lettin the smoke roll right into my face and they have eyes. LOL COME ON. LOL But we remain strong, smell great, and we're now HEALTHY :bouncing:
I'm still going to the gym but my eating habits are so so. LOL I'm getting more toned but still have the majority of my 15lbs. to lose but I'm fine with it. I did finally step up my workout from 2 or 3 days to 4 or 5 days. I did it awhile bk but only lasted a week since it was so cold/snow ice storm, etc... (yep that's my excuse and I'm stickin to it lol), but now I"m focused and determined to get this weight off so I'm doing much better now. :)
Hey Dave - you post WHENEVER you want to - that's what these boards are here for. If you don't need to, then that's totally your call but never feel like you're a burden because you are not and I agree with Deda - you've already helped others. You have to remember that there are quite a few that read the posts - they just don't reply to any messages. Then after 4 months one will finally reply. LOL So go for what you know :)
Anyway - just wanted to touch base with you guys and let you know you're never forgotten and I pray for all of us every night so no worries, but as always...never let your guard down ;)
Ciao for now and I'll try to post at least a few times per week when I can but if I miss - know that I'll pull an Arnold (I'll be back). LOL

Dave your such a sweetie :)
Oh and I forgot my thought when I was talkin about counting days with my Dad (I'm good for that you know - goin down a diff. rabbit trail lol)........a few months prior I told him I would continue to count until I didn't want to count anymore and that the important thing was that I wasn't smokin so leave my *(*)*()_ alone with the counting thing. LMAOOTF HAHHAHAHHAHHAHA
I'm sure most of you can relate - another day is a MAJOR success for us so it's good to be proud of yourself and I think the milestone markers (one month, 2 months, etc..) are big payoffs for us - even financially :) I know I have more money in my bank account now, but I'm sure being the female that I am I'll find some way to spend it. LOL
Have a great day :)

Hey Girl, so good to hear from you today.
About the counting thing...seems like most of us gals know exactly the day we quit AND even the hour too. (ME, Sept. 24 @ 12pm). My hubby is celebrating his 1 yr quit anniversary this month, but he doesn't remember the date. He says "what differance does it make?" If I didn't keep track, he wouldn't even know which month he quit!!!
One thing people can think about when considering the financial aspect of quitting is that gasoline prices are so high now, and think about how that cig money can be putting gas in your car. cigs $4.50/day, that's about 2 gallons of gas out here. (Or 2 gallons of milk).
Take care Laurie...

Dave, thank you. But I think you are a great role model for people lurking here, the ones that are considering quitting soon, but haven't worked up the gumption yet. You've just put together a good plan for yourself, and your program is working out great for you. You're showing others how to do this, and I think that's great! Take care Dave, :nono: and please don't leave us yet! ;)
