Hi
I am a 35 yr old woman..I smoke about 2 1/2 packs of ciggarettes a day..I have had a sore throat for about 3 weeks.. At first i thought it was a cold coming on so i took nyquil for a few days and it went away then one night i didnt take nyquil and it was back with a nengance!!!I also noticed a small hard spot on the side of my neck that wasnt there before..I have had severe buring sensation in my lower neck and throbbing pain in my shoulders..even happens when i first get up.I also have a heavy feeling in my arms but just down to the elbow.I often feel as if i have a big cramp stuck in my shoulders right on top between the neck and top part of the arm.This may sound crazy but i am scared to death!!!Anyone that may recognize these symtopms please respond..I also have a very sore spot in my groin down by my leg that just started hurting a few days ago..Please someone respong and help me!!!Thank you in advance

Hi, I'm kinda in the same position. I smoke 1 and a half a day. I have a persistant cough and my voice is always hoarse, I'm always trying to clear my throat. My chest has been feeling really tight. I also have pain in my neck that goes into my shoulderblade. My shoulder is always sore. I think I may have bronchitis, but I haven't been to the doctor yet. All this has been going on for 6-8 months now.
I don't know what to tell you, just thought I'd let you know you aren't alone.

Thanks for replying..I went to the doc yesterday..He had me go for xrays of my neck..He thinks it is a pinched nerve..He also gave me celebrex..He thinks i have arthritis..Since i went into early menopause and .I also was a painter for 6 yrs..Thats hartd on your joints,I have taken calcium and will make sure i take it now!! Thanks again.I wish you luck on cutting back on the ciggs..Today is a new day and i am gonna give it my all to at least cut back..

Hi, I'm glad you went to the doctor!!! I hope everything works out for you!!
Maybe we can try and quit smoking together. It always helps when you have someone quitting with you!! or at least cutting back (lol) My mom gets on me all the time about how much I smoke. She worried because I'm over weight and don't get enough exercise and my aunt died of a stroke. Keep me updated on how you are doing. Becky

Isnt it crazy how these ciggs just take ahold and wont let go!!!
I have heard people say its las hard as trying to quit a herione habit!!!
I tell myself im not gonna light up for another hour ..then i cave or watch the clock!!!
I am going to ask my psych doc when i go back about giving me zyban to help me quit for good!!!
I see him in 3 weeks...I have a 20 yr old niece that has asthma and is overweight and she smokes...Here i am puffing away yet i really worry about her ...for the same reasons your mom worries about you probably...Well i need to get moving.I find it hard to believe nobody replied to this post except you.I am thankfull that you did though it shows what a truely nice person you are.I have done the same on the boards when nobody replys.I will... just to give suppport..thanks again..good day to ya

Hi Sublime, I know what your saying. If I'm down to one pack left and have no money I start freaking out and thinking how can I get a pack of cigarettes, of course that doesn't happen to often. My other bad habit is coffee. I can easily drink 2 pots a day. I started adding decaf to my regular. So many habits to break, so little time!!(lol)
Yeah, I can't believe noone else answered your post. Maybe no ones too sure on the answer. Most people will answer if they had the same problem.
I have an appointment next Monday but it's for my kidneys. I'm having two test done but won't know the results till April.
