I heard on the news this morning that a new pill was coming out (not approved yet) that will help smokers quit AND lose weight. Darn them, I could use that now! But I thought I'd mention it for those of you waiting in the wings!

The drug is called rimonabant, and should be out in about a year.
One study found the drug helped people drop 20 pounds in a year, while the other concluded it doubles smokers' success at quitting.
I want it now! If it works that good, I wonder if it will also be marketed as a weightloss aid.

Yes, I'm already quit. I was just wishing that it had been out sooner. But it will give some hope to those who try and fail and try and fail, so that's a good thing. Gosh, it's my two month anniversary!

Now on the new pill thing - it's prob. some derivative of wellbutrin or something because that pill does the same thing - this new pill is prob. just more advanced. BUT - we all know that when we use methods to drop weight quickly - it normally comes back. Soooooooooooooooo - we should do it the way we can MAINTAIN it - thru exercise (hint hint - get off the couch) and eating better. Even if you only walk for 20 min. per day - that in itself will help you dramatically.
