I know that weight gain is not listed as one of the side effects of taking singulair. It is the only medication I am on other than zyrtec and albuterol and I've gain at least 20 lbs since I've been taking it!! Has anyone else had this problem.

Seems like the same people who are extremely hypersensitive to minute doses of inhaled steroids (as in they gain weight from that too) are also prone to gain weight from Singulair.
I know it's been mentioned before that someone switched just to lose weight and they haven't lost it.
It is possible that something else has been impacting your lifestyle -- under more stress lately, is your asthma under good control? Poorly controlled asthma tends to make one feel more tired, which makes one eat more. It's a body-response thing. Let's investigate.

I just posted a response about weight gain under a different discussion. I was diagnosed with asthma in March 2003. I am taking 10 mg Singulair once per day. This is the only medication I take. I have gained at least 12 lbs since I started taking Singulair. I was just to dr on Thurs to complain about this as well as rash/itching and strange dreams. I had to go for bloodwork on Fri to have thyroid checked. I am waiting for the results. Even though it's not listed as a side effect, I believe it is causing my weight gain, as my eating habits have not changed.
