Hello, I have posted before about my asthma problems. Well, it hasn't gotten any better. It's worse! I have asthma attacks every night. I vomit during the attacks, thick white mucus comes up. I cannot sleep. Last night I got a total of 3 hours sleep. The night before I got 1 hour. I can't take this anymore. My doc gave me more albuterol which isn't helping at all. I made an appointment to see a allergist. I won't get in until Oct. 21st. No one can seem to help me. My OBGYN won't do much until I see the allergist. I cannot breathe! I havn't had asthma problems since I was 16 yrs old, I am now 22. All of a sudden here it is and full blown. I use my inhaler way too much. (a lot more than they want me too) but I get no relief. I am 13 weeks pregnant. Does any one know what happens to my baby when I am having an attack? will using my inhaler more cause birth defects? I read in the warnings about it. It said it could cause serious effects on the fetus. Is this true? Have I already caused something with my baby? I am going crazy here. I can't breathe and I am so worried. again my doc doesn't seem to help much. I have posted in the pregnancy forum and they don't want to reply to any of my posts. I don't know why. Is there anyone I can call, a hotline or something to help me? I just can't take this anymore! Help.

Having baby be short on oxygen in utero is most likely hurting him way more than any of your asthma medications would.

If your ob/gyn doesn't seem to think there's a problem with you continuing on your asthma medications during pregnancy, chances are, the benefits outweigh the risks.
