well i finally went to plannedparenthood to get tested for std's and HIV and they told me 1 month is long enough to detect HIV, what are the statistics on that? My last possible exposure was close to 3 months ago but not quite....

Hey there,
WEll i am not sure of the statistics. But i believe the three month rule means that most people will have produced significant antiobodies to the virus by this time and can be detected by a test. IN general most people will probably do the same thing after a month (maybe why they said this). I think the three month deal is just a little more accurate and conclusive. There may be the odd person that tests negative after a month but then after three months positive. If you get tested after three months and are negative i think you are good to go!! If you really want stats i am sure you can find them in a search engine.
