Hey gang, new here but looks like lots of info I can use, hope y'all can help me!
I was put on Sinular, Advair Diskus(lowest dosage) and,Allegra two weeks ago for allergies and Asthma prevention. Just in the past two days, I developed severe cramps and diareha. I've also read that some folks get tired from Singular, huh...I thought it was me. I didn't recieve a list of side-effects and will see my Doc on Mon....
Can this be from the Singular or Advair??? Any help, info or comments would be appreciated...Thanks!

Hate to leave you unanswered, I always want someone to answer. I am on both Advair and Singulair, have been on Allegra, Zyertec and Claritin at different times.
I have not had any of the side effects - I love both of them. I gave up on the Allegra, Zyertec and Claritin after reading some articles that said plain benedryl was more effective - it is for me. I take one in the morning and more if it is a bad allergy day. I thought Flonase was expensive rose water, it did nothing for me. Not all drugs work the same on all people, you just have to keep trying them and see if they work for you with side effects that you can live with.

Thanks Monday for the response!
I see my allergist tomorrow, and can maybe find more answers then. I moved from WI to KY and I was warned about the allergies here...they weren't kidding! I've never been put on so many things @ once. Even on antibiotics for an infection on my face caused by allergens (whew)! I was accomstomed to Hayfever and fall allergies in WI. So, tomorrow I have to go thru the allergy testing on my back! Nothing to look forward too....Yuck! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif
Glad your scripts are working for you Monday, thanks again! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
Allergy testing with pricks on your back is nothing. You just lay there and fall asleep for 15 minutes til they come in and check them. Then if there are any "iffy" ones, or ones they'd like to try a higher dose of allergen, they give a small shot on your arm above your wrist. No big deal. I had the tests a few weeks ago. 56 on my back, and 11 on my arm.
As to your diarrhea. It might be a side effect, or maybe you were just having a touch of the flu. One doctor told me that if you have side effects, give it a little while and see if they go away. Sometimes the side effects aren't that bad, and the medicine is doing more good than harm. And often, the side effects go away once your body gets used to it. So unless they are life-threatening or really bothersome, just tough it out.
By the way, I'm on Advair 250/50 and Singulair and not experiencing any problems. The first night with Singulair I had a bad dream, and read that can be a side effect, so now I take it in the morning, not in the evening. No problems.

Thanks PLM http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif
I had testing done many moons ago where they did it on my forearms and did it itch! Then, they did the upper arms like you mention. Sounds like it should be better this time. My cramping has settled down somewhat but have a few twinges here and there- hoping it is a reaction and will subside soon. All this is new to me since I've never been on so many things before for allergies and asthma prevention. It's kinda scary for me since I don't know anyone to share these experiences and info, except my doctor.
I'm glad I found this board. So far it has been a great comfort and help..Thanks everyone! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wink.gif

I have heard from many people that Advair causes stomach upset. Whether or not this is true, im not sure, but if you believe the medicine is contributing to this, I'd go see your dr. about it. Maybe there's something else out there thats better for you.
