My kids are hyper sensitive to drinking of Chlorinated tap water.
It gives them coughs that develop into severe coughs. The doctors, said our 3 year old was developing asthma and that our 6 year old had just a sympathy cough. What a joke. That was 9 years ago and our younger child has never developed asthma. It was all just the chlorine tap water they were drinking.
Since this origionally happened the kids have accidentally gotten new sources of chlorinated tap water a couple of times and started coughing again and we would quickly figure it out and stop the new source and the coughing would stop immediatly.( new sources were the school, friends home etc.)
I looked it up in Medical books and found research on how chlorine effects humans. These symptoms matched what my kids were experiencing. Why did the doctors not know. It took me ten months to figure it out. Our 3 year old coughed so much it took her hours to get to sleep even with the help of many cough medicines. She had tons of trips to her pediatricians and at times she would need asthma meds and antibiotics.
The've been well for years. If you know anyone with a cough that never goes away and has to take tons of asthma meds or what ever, maybe all they need to do is stop the source of chlorinated tap water.
For my kids no chlorine tap water in their drinks etc. = no coughing problems. At the time they would just have bottled water.

This is very interesting. Shortly after my husband moved into our new home he developed a TERRIBLE cough. After several months of treatment he was diagnosed with Asthma and acid reflux. A year later, he is still coughing. I know that there is high levels of chlorine in our city tap water. Just last week I purchased a facett water filer, for general health reasons - not thinking there might be a connection to my husbands cough. Do you think that the tap filter will be enough filtation to notice a difference? Perhaps if I cook with that water, and he only drinks bottled water that might be better? Thank you so much for sharing your find!

Yes...I think that is a perfect start. Filtered water for cooking, bottled water for drinking. The filtered water may even be enough to help for the drinking.
Good luck...let me know his progress.
