about 5 days ago i noticed a tiny reddish pimple on the shaft of my penis. it doesnt hurt or itch but i was scared it might be herpes. so today i went to the std clinic to get it checked out. the first doctor casually said it looked like an early onset of venerial warts. he said it like it was no big deal. then the nurse called in another doctor. he said it didnt look like either herpes or warts. it was too small to get a culture of it, so they drew my blood for syphillis. i dont know what to think now. i am a hypochondriac so i was hoping for some more definite answers from them. im really worried now :( what should i do??

Nothing much you can do until you find out for sure what it is......except practice safe sex from now on. Syphilis isn't horribly common and if caught early enough can be taken care of with antibots. Easier said than done, but try not to worry.

but how do i find out what it is, if the doctors couldnt give me an answer? also, what if i find a steady girlfriend and she wants to have unprotected sex? does not knowing mean i cant ever have special intimacy again? i just want some answers, and it angers me because im taking the steps to be responsible. i dont want to live in fear and associate sex with fear and disease!! ive never had unprotected sex before and ive read condoms dont prevent hpv anyways. all this over a tiny painless pimple. :(

Since STD's are easily diagnosed through testing you need to find out what tests were done, what the results were, etc... Don't be afraid to ask questions and ask for certain tests to be ran. If it doesn't go away or if it gets bigger in a few days go to another doc/health dept. and have them give you the STD work-up.
It could be something like a clogged skin cell, a pimple, or even a tiny blister caused by friction.
Things can "look" like anything. So far, after seeing 2 different docs you have 2 different "opinions"......<---that being the KEY word. My friends mom has been married over 30years. Went for her annual gyn check-up and the doc told her that her vagina "appeared" to be broke out from Herpes. That almost destroyed her marriage. After seeing 2 other docs in less than 2weeks they discovered she had a heat rash and an allergy on top of that. The point is.......things aren't always what they seem to be.
Another thing......If being diagnosed with Chlamydia taught me anything it taught me.......to ALWAYS use protection. If you find a "steady girlfriend" and wish to have unprotected sex, sit her down and explain to her that you both have had a past sexually and you feel the mature thing to do is go to a health department/doctor together and have STD testing before doing away with the condoms. If she's worth keeping and sleeping with she'll adore you for protecting her and yourself.

Wait for the results. If you remain concerned, try to see a dermatologist. Worry won't make things go away.
