Hi everyone,

My Name is Samantha and I have been dealing with Anxitey for 5 years. I am 21 and I am scared. I want to have a relationship and a family someday but how am I sapose to have that when I am dealing with this? I just wanna talk to someone who is or has delt with this so I can know someday I will come through and be my normal self again. I have been on all types of meds and now I am on Paxil CR. Its working but i feel myself getting bad again. If anyone would talk to me and give me advise It would be a blessing. Thank for taking the time to read this.

welcome samatha,

paxil often helps a lot , sometimes the dose needs to be upped to keep it working, many books on overcoming anxiety have useful advice

, also keep reading the posts here, for suggestions about dealing with and overcoming sociial anxiety
IU had severe SA for many years and always got the wrong advice on coping with it which made me get worse

stay with us and tell us more about your problems

Hi Samantha,
I am nineteen and have suffered from anxiety since I was 12. My doctor has said it was nothing and never gave me any medications for it. However, anxiety really is something that shouldn't be thrown aside.
I find that listening to classical music and sitting alone in the dark often helps to calm my anxiety attacks, sometimes. There are times, however, when I just have to wait it out.
If you ever want to talk, I'm always here, and always listening. My goal in life it to try to help as many people as I can

Hi Samantha,
I have been dealing with anxiety since my late teens and I am now 31. I have had many successful realtionships during that time. Right now I have been with the same man for the past 2 years and he is very SUPPORTIVE of my anxiety. He gives me books and the encouragement to overcome this. There are many options, and anxiety tends to run in cycles throughout your life... I can be great for a year or so and then it hits me like a ton of bricks....I have been able to cope with this better the older I get....I am not talking any medication except Ativan as needed and I probably take 2 a month. Hang in there and know that there is help and promise with this disorder. Feel free to contact me at as I will always listen....Take Care!
Kaley :)

Hi, I am 20 and have been of an 'anxious nature' all my life but since about october of last year my anxiety has become more severe. This website as been really helpful and its nice to know that i'm not alone in feeling like this! I just always take into consideration what my mum says "that being 20 is very young and as you get older you learn to cope and deal with things much better!" So im sure having a family etc is something you will be quite capable of doing one day!
