sideorder

I was just prescribed Lexapro by my doctor for general stress/anxiety reduction. I was told that the sexual side effects were minimal...primarily "ejaclatory delay". I really don't wan to become sexually dysfunctional in any way. Any men out there taking Lexapro (or women who are with men taking Lexapro) that can give me the lowdown? I have a very healthy sex life with my girlfriend and hate to see it take a turn just because I'm taking an anti-anxiety drug. Any advice/comments or feedback would be appreciated. Also, don't even know if I'm "posting" in the right place...I'm totally new to this.

Hi,
lexapro is a new prozac type med and hopefully its side effects are less of a nusiance than some older meds
how it will effect you and whether it will work for you can sadly only be found out by taking it, give it 2 weeks, although these meds can take 8 weeks to start working properly
valium type meds are useful when starting an antidepressant as they relax you and also reduce early side effects
as always with stress and anxiety, you do need to relax, learn stress managment skills and exercise more, as well as taking the med.
also consider getting a book on massage and get GF to massage you for relaxation
