I have a 10 year old boy with a learning disability and bahaviour problems. He was diagnosed at 3 yrs with global delay (there is no such disorder, doc's use this when dont know)Doc's couldn't tell me why or how he will progress. They weren't much help at all, theres your diagnosis now go away on your own and cope with it.
My son had septiceamia when he was around 10 mths-1 yr,it was after this that i noticed a difference.Does antbody have a child who has had septiceamia and then led on to learning disabilitys of any kind.
i would be greatfull for any replies as its the not knowing that drives you insane.I wouldn't change him for the world he's hiself
but i do want to know if there is a connection . THANKYOU

Here is a link to a site about septicemia and meningitis. It may be information that you are already painfully familiar with. Did he also have meningitis as well? If he was already on antibiotics for the Septicemia, they may not have pursued this. Meningitis is a known cause of brain damage. Have you been to a neurologist? I think doctors are too quick to diagnose and dump. If a genetically "normal" child has delays, I feel it is worth pursuing the reason why.

No he didn't get meningitis, just the septiceamia.Only symptons he had was a raging temperature. We are seeing a neuro at the end of this month because he has started ticking.Facial grimis, nose twitching and throat clearing. Thanks for the link.
please excuse my spelling.
