Hi to all,
I stumbled upon this board, and I am so glad I did.
I sure could use some advice. I am 44 years old and have been having two periods a month (heavy for quite some time.
Here in Pa, we have a problem keeping Drs (especially OB/GYNs).
I haven't been able to see a Dr, but have been seen by Physicians assistants,
She seemed thorough, but was very quick to put me on Prometrium, even after I told her about my concerns. I have a sister that had a double masectomy, and blood clots are very common in my family.
I work out daily and weight is a huge concern for me. Have any of you taken prometrium and gained weight? I did a search but I am new and not very good at this board stuff..
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Dear Babooshkasmith,
I posted a thread also on changes I have experienced. And having double periods used to be one of the symptoms, now I experienced no periods  . Then I read several post's from other woman and they all said the way I was feeling. As I said on my post it was suggested by some other woman to look on Dr. Phil's web site that Ann Louise Gittleman has wrote a book on perimenopause, and I just bought it today well hubby went and got it for me  . And I have just began to read it. I've never taken the Prometrium, but I was given progesterion 2 years ago took it for a few months felt no better so I quite taking it. But I will rethink this decision since that is what most of us woman are needing at this time in our life. We'll see what the book say's on the subject. But welcome to the board, I am new also :) :bouncing: . My daughter showed me this site so glad she did. Take care Dana
