My husband has been having problems and we are afraid because of alot of Cancer signs. He has alot of back pain, but has a bad back and a pain pump in. but this pain is really bad even with the morphin pump. He also has swelling in the legs, chest, ankles, ect. never did before. He is extremly tired, falls asleep in no time. he has headaches EVERYDAY now for the past 6[8 months, even migrains that he had to go to the ER with. HIs skin on his back hurts just to lightly touch it. His legs are swelled and when you push a finger in it, it stays a dent. WE are so afraid of it being Cancer!! Anyway can anyone tell us if they know more about this ? I am having him go to the Dr. very soon, but we thought we would also check on here. Thank You very much.

There are many things that could be wrong, but I don't think cancer is the most likely problem. You say that he's been on a morphine pump for the pain associated with back problems. It's possible he's gotten an infection from the pump site which has spread systemically. It's also possible that his back has gotten worse. The swelling could also be from a number of issues.

The best thing to do here is to see his primary care physician. These symptoms could be caused by so many things, and probably the first step is to do some blood work to see if anything is abnormal. That would give the doctors a clue as to where to look. Also, the doctor he sees for his back pain may have some ideas.

I feel for what your husband is going through. I really wish I could offer you an answer as to what may be wrong with him. One thing that came to mind when I read about his symptoms is RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy). He has severe pain, swelling, fatigue, sensitivity to touch, migraines, and these symptoms are also present with RSD. RSD is often triggered by an injury or surgery, and the symptoms can spread to other parts of the body. Since I'm not a doctor, I may be totally wrong with my suggestion of RSD, but RSD was just a thought that came to mind when I read about your husband's symptoms.

If you don't get any answers from the doc you bring him to, by all means, find a doc who is able to properly diagnose him.

Would you please update us here about your husband's condition? Hope everything goes well with the doctor's appointment.
