Hi,
I was wondering if there is an anti depressent out there for anxiety and deppression that doesnt make you a total wreck for the first week that you take it. Unlike paxil cr which really messed with me bad. I was so dizzy i wanted to just fall over dead. Or if there is one out there now that does not make you gain weight. Please help! Need advice.

You just have to try them to find one that works for you. Each person has different reactions to each drug. Some have gone through several before finding one that works for them.

One of the many downsides to anti-depressants is that it takes awhile to work so you can't just keep switching.

I have been through Prozac, Paxil, Wellbrutrin, Zoloft, to name a few. All of them had different effects on me. Prozac made in insane and I thought that I had lost my mind and in fact, I had. That started me down the trail of benzodiazapines. (A whole other subject)

Wellbrutrin caused me to gain too much weight.

Zoloft didn't work for me, neither did Paxil.

In the end, and I know, I know, this will not work for everyone, I settled for sunshine, exercise, positive outlook, and a social network. This worked for me.

There are sites that list all of the possible side effects and a great book, Worst Pills. Best Pills that you might read. There are also sites that allow you to read about the clinical trials that they have done on any med that you are thinking about taking.

Remember, each person has a different chemical makeup and our own quirks :)

to kute, you might try effexor next, its a different type of antidepressant to paxil

a very low starting dose for the first week or so and some valium type meds often helps you to get started

I have to disagree here, no one needs to start down the road of benzodiazapines unless they REALLY have to. It is SO hard to get off of.

Is Serenity a brand name of a natural herbal supplement or as in a state of mind?
