im a 20 year male and from time to time the left side of my chest hurts intensly for a couple seconds then goes away. it used to just come and go but now it even occurs while im exercising. I dont see how it could be anything to do with my heart because i ran cross country and track in high school and have continued to run to stay in shape. i went to a doctor about it and he listened and said that he didnt hear any problems and that my blood pressure was fine. all the same it really concerns me and any insight anyone may have would help.

I have had pains in my heart area for many years on and off. There is no problem with the heart. I think I pull a muscle down there sometimes. I have been into cycling all my life and sometimes when I am really breathing hard I actually pull a muscle. It will be uncomfortable for a few days and go away. I have been to a cardiologist when having the pain and he thinks it's a chest muscle.
