Such as: * What is the persons sexual activity. * Is the person HIV positive. * If so, what is the viral load. * What type of exposure or fluid that was exchanged. * Where was the point of contact * Was the recipient of the virus suffering from any infection or diseases that would increase the risk. * Was protection used, if so what type was used. * Was protection used correctly. Versus focusing on the statistics it might be better to look at the facts: * There is at least 1 case of HIV for every 300 people in the U.S., * If you eliminate the people that are not likely to have or contract HIV (most babies and small children, most elderly, most people that have one sex partner, etc…) then the number of people that are HIV positive and have the potential for spreading HIV rises to 1 out of 140. * The highest instances of HIV infection is among heterosexuals between the ages of 14 and 22! * AIDS is the number one killer of all men between the ages of 25 and 44, surpassing even automobile accidents, cancer and violent deaths. With such odds, a person would be wise to do 2 things. Always use protection for any type of sexual contact and find out the status of your self and your partner if it isn't known already. well see my last possible exposure was a year ago it was unprotected sex n i hadnt worried about it till i saw a hiv thing on the tv and the same *what if* question popped into my head. then again i had blood taken for a blood bank 3 mths afterwards n i would have been notified. the girl had told me she had gotten an std test and that everything was negative i just beleive im worrying my self to death what do u think |
