I live with my family and although I haven't tested yet for HIV (too early, only 19 days), I don't want to put them in jeopardy or risks. Should I use another soap and toothpaste for their protection?

HIV is cannnot be passed through casual contact. As for your specific concerns, I'd say the odds are so extremely low as to not warrant any concern. If it really bothers you that much though, then I guess you can get your own soap and toothpaste. :) The only thing that is recommended in households where someone is HIV+ is to avoid sharing razors and toothbrushes because of the small, but possible chance of blood contact.

Anyway, good luck with your test. I know the window period is extremely tough, as I myself am in week 5 of the window period of my exposure. (fingering with a small, non-bleeding peeled cuticle type thing)

thanks windyday for this info. I really don't want to scare myself too much day after day. It's only been 20 days since the last possible high risk sexual encounter. I don't know if that will do much?
