MY 4 year old nephew is adjusting to the new baby who is less then a month old. He has a PDD/ADHD diagnosis and is taking medication for the aggression. At first it helped a lot, but now that the baby is here, he has been acting up more lately and my sister is concerned. She says he is rough with the baby and sometimes pulls her arms and shakes her. He is touchy feely and always is all over her. He has hit her once. Besides the medication, he is recieving other early childhood interventions. My sister is not sure how to handle this. She doesn't want to keep upping the medication. Has anyone been through a situation like this? I would appreciate any response.

well I have 2 children, my first is an absolutely perfect high achieving gerber baby - she is now almost 17 and still delightful (for the most part smile) and I have a 13 year old son who is brilliant, energetic loving and diagnosised with Aspbergers. He takes for meds- ritilin, risperdal (a mild sedative for aggression), serzone (anti-despressant) and digestive enzymes and allergy meds, He still has trouble when his meds wear off being gentle with our pets, however what I thought I would share is that my daughter was just shy of 5 when my son was born and we experience the classic post baby syndrome- oh my - you wouldnt believe what a monster child she transformed into- refused to sleep- I am a preschool teacher and believe my I tried everything- consistent schedule- books at bedtime- stay the coarse- I would even lay with her when she refused to stay in bed or in her room- she screamed kicked, hit from 8pm well past midnight for several weeks. Now if she had that much trouble processing the whole sibling thing- I can only imagine how difficult it is for autistic kids. And angelic as she is today- her education goals include completing a criminal justice program because she is an expert on collecting evidence against her brother! -meme
