I had this little eraser head size spot on my face that seems to be getting darker in color, it's a bit shiny compared to the rest of my face and seems to be raising a bit, and it itches.
Could it be some type of skin cancer forming? I use to tan a lot in the south pacific and I use to landscape for quite a few years in Florida.
But it itches, that's where I'm confused.
My husband seems to think it's a reaction to a new foundation I've been using, but before the darkening happened, I thought I remembered seeing a slightly lighter color in that same spot (like extra pigmentation).
Thanks, Pootsi

Here are the danger signs to look for in a mole and Yes, itching is one of them.
Getting bigger
Changing shape, especially if it is becoming an irregular shape
Changing colour or becoming patchy looking
Itching
Bleeding
A mole that is showing any of these signs should be looked at by a specialist. The recommendation will usually be that you have it removed. It can then be closely examined under the microscope to see if there are any cancer cells there.
Most moles that are removed will not be cancerous. But it is better to be safe than sorry. Malignant melanoma is completely curable if it is picked up early.

Saraly, thanks.
I'm not sure if this was a mole before, it seemed to have appeared out of no where.
I didn't think that if it itched, that it would be anything cancerous, but it still could be.
