hello, Please forgive me if I am asking a stupid question. I am worried about an incident that for some reason has got me into a worried state.

I came into contact with blood while riding on the train, I didn't think anything of it at the time. When I got home (sorry for being crude) I pleasured myself and I guess after feelings of guilt I began thinking of the blood on the train (who's blood was it? A homeless man with HIV?). That it could have been on my hands while I touched myself on the tip of the penis and that I could have infected myself.

I plan to get tested at 4 months (I hope that is enough to provide a conclusive test) but am worried that if I was possbily infected that I would pass it on to my girlfriend...so I don't want to sleep with her and freaking that she will leave me because of this...

Is this a risky scenario?

Please don't be mad at me...

Blood dries pretty soon after exposure to air, or at least BEGINS to dry. As blood dries, if it is infected with HIV, the HIV virus begins to break down. HIV needs very very specific conditions to survive, and dry or drying blood is not a good place for HIV. Within minutes it starts to break down, and usually within half an hour the HIV virus will be dead after it has been exposed to the air.

Also consider ALL the things you probably touched after you touched the possible blood. Your probably touched door handles, maybe keys, maybe reached into your pocket, maybe you brushed your hands on your pants as you walked, all of these things would remove particles of anything clinging to you hand.

ALSO, HIV must get into your blood stream for you to catch the virus, meaning the dry blood would have to get IN through the tip of your penis, and multiply for you to have it. And thats hard to do. Or through a cut on your penis. It is MUCH harder for a man to catch HIV through vaginal intercourse just because it is hard for HIV to enter a mans blood stream that way.

So, is there a risk? Blood, in a small amount you possibly touched that was drying with a MAYBE HIV virus that if it was there was already breaking down, and continued to do so as you went home. So you get home, with minimal blood on your hand, with a virus that at that time is probably already dead, and masturbate. No, theres really no risk.

If your fearful you dont need to wait 4 months, 3 months will be accurate.
