Hi Everyone,
I am new to this board so please bear with me. I have been seeing a pulmonary dr. since Jan. I have copd, so he wanted to do a ct scan. The results showed a nodule on my lung, he then ordered pet scan, that showed hotspots on my right shoulder bone. A ct guided bone biopsy was done last Wednesday. It shows I have secondary bone cancer. I won't see an Oncologist until next Tuesday. Is there anyone out there that has the same results that can talk to me? :

I'm not in the same situation, but I can talk to you if you want. I've had friends diagnosed with various types of cancers.
Cancer is a horrid opportunistic disease :( I can imagine the confusion and fear that you are going through right now. Just know that many people have and have had cancer, so you are not alone.
Do you have a church group that you can talk to? Perhaps call the oncology department and ask to speak to a social worker there. They have support systems set up to assist people who have been newly diagnosed with cancer.
Also, you can contact the cancer foundation in your area, and they can put you through to volunteers who can talk to you and offer you some emotional support, and even accompany you to the doctor if you need.

Nov, of 2003, I was admitted into the hospital thru the emergency. I was having problems breathing and walking. My breast cancer that was insurmition for seven years had spread to various parts of my bones and
the fluid with the cancer had settled in the space between my right lung.
I have had seven chemo treatments and one more to go and then be
retested to see where I stand with the cancer. I have type 1, very good
chance. the stages go from 1 - 4. My weight is coming back. I can walk
and breath with out crying and urinating on myself.
the only pain I'm experiencing is that from the chemo and I'm doing ok
I was back to work within six weeks. My treatments are outpatient.

Hi I am new as of today (4-8-04). I do not have these things going on but my mother does. I sure would like to talk to you. Seems that the steps you are taking are the same as my mom. She has spinal cancer (bone cancer) + lung cancer.

Hi CarolB,
Ever since December of 2003. I have had two types of chemo. I have received injections for strengthening my bone marrows, red cells and white cells. I haven't had very many colds, althought my co-worker have been sickly around me. I have gotten accasional runny nose but, otherwise I have been of good health. Now my mental health? that's why I have come to this site to help me cope. I don't have that far to go but the numbness in my toes and fingers is like chinese torture. they become intense the first week after my chemo - it's called taxol. I was able to walk five block to and from my home without getting tire recently. Everyone is amaze at my progress. I have had alot of peoples praying for me, which helps alot.
In october, when I first went to the Doctor, I was told I had asthma.
My co-worker saw how difficult it was for me to just take a few steps or walk up stairs, they insisted that I go to another doctor.
I hope this help
