What are the best foods to eat to help prevent outbreaks? Also are there vitimans that are also good to take?

Hi, this is the web page that I go to so that I can check on my food intake in managing my herpes. It gives a chart that shows how people with viral diseases can benefit from a diet high in lysine and low in arginine. Click on the link and you'll see what I mean. It's a really good resource. Just be sure to stay away from alcohol, nuts, and caffeine. (believe me, it's hard to do that. lol.)

It's great if the lysine stuff works for you, but please note that it doesn't work for everyone (I got really depressed after avoiding all those "argunine" -spelling?- foods, taking lysine supplements and still getting outbreaks). Just remember that good nutrition is very important in immune functioning, so lots of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and a multi and vit C might be useful.

Thanks for replying. The information you have given me has been helpful. I have also gotten some Vitamins to try, hopefully they will help me. I have also been eating healthier also.....I hope this works!
