As a long time (over 5 years) non sexualy active person I have recently become active once again. In the last month my partner has developed a redness and swelling around her vaginia. This is worriesome for we both maintain that we are STD free.
I had one outbreak of what was diagnosed as shingles shortly after my divorce, (she was not monagamous). Since then I have had no outbreaks, no sores, no swellings but from my searches on the web have found that either one or both of us could be carriers. One place I found said that an outbreak could occur with ginital stimulation after a prolonged abstinance.
I am at a loss, as I have no symptoms other than a pit in the bottom of my stomach that I may have infected my partner.
Where can I go and what can I do.
Also found this so called "treatment" called "choraphor" what ca n you tell me about it?

Um okay i've never heard of anyone infecting thier partner from shingles unless i'm confused about what you wrote. Even though the herpes and shingles virus are closely related to the best of my knowledge once you've had chickenpox you can't get it again. You can get chickenpox from shingles because they are more closley related, unless you've already had them.

but shingle to herpes ? don't think so. If you worried about either of you being a carrier both of you should get blood tests for Herpes and somewhere on these forums there is a post about choraphor, so just have a look around i'm sure you'll find some answers. good luck

I get swelling and redness around my vagina for a while after intercourse. This is actually normal for some people. Try usuing more lubrication. If she doesnt have sores it could be normal irritation.
