I used to post on this board over a year ago. I took a much needed break from all the stress and everything that comes from infertility. Our next step is egg donor. I was wondering if anyone here is going through that or will be.

Hi there....my husband and I are just beginning to think about that option. Are you looking at an anonymous donation or a known donor? Such a daunting thought...we're in Canada and new legislation here may soon make donors scarce. We've also looked into it in NY - expensive! What are you thinking?

Hello. My only option (according to Western Medicine) is to do donor egg/IVF. I was dx'd with sudden Premature Ovarian Failure 3 yrs ago and the tender age of 22. We still have no idea why this happened as all tests are normal. If we did do DE/IVF, it would be an anonymous donor by far. Just our personal choice.

But I'm not giving up yet on my fight to have a bio baby! :D I am in the process of starting to see and acupuncturist who will use chinese acup, and herbs to hopefully open whatever channels got messed with. I never thought I'd turn to alternative medicine but I've been doing alot of research and it is amazing what has been accomplished out there with herbs and acupuncture! This will be done in corralation to my regular Dr (RE).

Thanks for your responses. I guess I am a little ahead of both of you, which makes me nervous!! ;) I have the application for our agency we are using and it will be in the mail at lunch. We will be on our way to selecting our donor.

We know for a fact that we are using an anonymous donor. I have a sister, but she is getting married soon, and I don't want to mess with her future fertility. We decided anonymous is better anyway since we are not telling anyone what we are doing.
