Well, I have always hated doing cardio because I get so bored while doing it. Anyways, the winter snow here has almost cleared up and I rode my bike for the first time in ages today. As I was riding my bike, I was thinking that maybe I could ride my bike as a replacement for doing cardio. First of all, will that work? Second, if it works, then how long do I have to ride a bike to get the same results as doing one minute of a cardio workout at a gym. Btw, I live in a hilly area, so sometimes I dun have to pedal at all, but some other times I have to pedal like mad to make it up the hill. Thanks!

Sure it will work. The only was to compare the gym bike to a real bike woul dbe to use a heart rate monitor on both. With a real bike, you are not in a controlled environment and most often not on a constant terrain and hence you will get variation.
