Hi everyone,

I want to lose a little weight, but I would prefer to lose weight in area where I have muscle (ex. thighs and arms) and avoid losing fat from my butt and breasts. What type of excercise should I be doing, and what should I be eating to promote this type of weight loss? Do I even have any control over where on my body I lose weight?

Sorry, but the body's first source of fuel is the food we feed it, in particular carbohydrates. What we don't use up gets stored as fat.

The next source of energy for the body is the stored fat. However, when the body burns fat, it produces ketones which is ok, but not in huge quantities.

The only way to lose muscle is to not exercise those muscles and there will be "muscle wasting", meaning that the muscle will eventually become less taught and flabby.

I'm no exercise guru, so you might want to consult a fitness trainer and a dietician.

Sorry, but you have absolutely no control as to where you will lose fat. None. It is actually likely that you WILL first lose fat in those areas where you'd rather not and the areas that are your "trouble" spots will be the last ones to lose fat.
To lose fat you have to examine your diet and make sure that you eat fewer calories than your body requires. Fat loss is 80% diet and 20% exercise.
