I have my annual gyno appt.--- on Tues. I just started spotting, today. I am assuming by Tues I will be on my period. Should I reschedule my gyno appt.? I think a pap spear is not accurate on ones period, right?

I've gone to my gyne when I've had my period and they haven't said anything. Don't wear a tampon that day.
However, if you are concerned, call the doctor's office on Monday and ask them what you should do. Maybe your doctor will want you to rebook for another time.

It's happened to me before too, but my gyn had me reschedule. No big deal.

They don't really care about the blood, but the pap can be inaccurate. Call the nurses and ask for sure what your doc would prefer.

Let the doctor make the decision on that one. Some care, some don't. (Although what really matters is the tests.) Give them a call.

I just cancelled it. There was a waiting list, so I am sure someone was very happy to get my appt. I have cramps, and I am glad I cancelled!

Good choice. Personally, the last thing i want to do around my period is spread my legs for some cold, awkward instrument. I'm sure your cancellation made someone's day.

Has anybody really have had a pap smear during period? I thought it was no possible. And I have read that the week before period is not appropiate for a good pap smear too.

I have a couple of times. I'm polycystic ovary and my menstrual cycle can't be predicated without hormone pills, which I sometimes take, and sometimes don't. So dealing with an irregual menses cycle, and a hard to get into gynecologist, you kind of go with the flow, no pun intended.
