hi our son has been on supernu-thea for a wee while now. he dosen`t like the taste of it much but we just try to get as much of it down him as possible.
his DR has ordered it in liquid form so that should be better.
One change i have seen is his dirrahea has stopped all together. that was a big problem!!
i tried to get the DR to order TMG at the same time. but she said from she hs read TMG is not needed.
I have tried ordering it my self from kirkmans labs but each time i click on sales page on their web site it won`t come up some thing to do with AOL?????????????

Trisha,
Have you tried calling Kirkmans? How have you been giving your son the Super Nu Thera? My son did not like the liquid form. I buy the capsules and open them in a little orange juice and he drinks it better. I also want to say that alot of doctors are skeptical about vitamin therapy. I have a nutritionist that I work with and they seem to be more knowledgable in this area. My sons pediatrician was very very worried about the vitamins and was relived that I hired a nutritionist to join our team to help my son.

Trisha,
According to my kirkman guide small children should take 3 to 6 capsules (175mg) a day. The dosage should be given 1/2 in the A.M. and 1/2 in the afternoon. I prefer capsules but I do give my son the powder form of acidophilus. I just mix it all up in orange juice. My son hates the liquid form of vitamin and mineral so I buy capsules. Every child is different. You know your child better than anyone else. I also read that they have TMG with folic acid & vitamin B-12. They say that the folic acid is added to counteract hyperactivity and b12 is added so that the folic acid does not mask a b-12 deficiency. Also, if or when you order ask for their "GUIDE TO SCIENTIFIC NUTRITION FOR AUTISM AND RELATED CONDITIONS" it is free and it will help you decide on different products and will help you on the ones you are about to order. I will be speaking to my sons nutritionist on monday. If I learn anything new I will pass it along to you. Good luck and if I can help in anyway just let me know.

Trisha,
If you are going to give three capsules then it would be 262mg (1 1/2 capsules)in the morning and 262mg in the evening. You can give up to six capsules a day for a small child. I think it's always better to start low and increase if needed. Once you receive the book you will be able to see what they reccommend. The book will probably come with your order. The acidophilus is to put friendly bacteria back into his digestive system. Alot of our kids have digestive problems which includes candida. My son was tested for candida and he was in the moderate range. He was put on nystatin (which is a prescription) and acidophilus along with Kirkmans Pro Bio Gold. Now he is in the low range which means that to good bacteria is starting to take over.
My son is currently on Super Nu Thera, Zinc, Magnesium Glycinate, Vitamin C, Reduced L-Glutathione Lotion and he takes epsom salt baths.
I have forgotten. How old is your child? And how is he/she?
Trisha, feel free to ask any questions you want. Believe me I have asked many too? And still do!

he seems to be takng the super-nu thera a bit btter now. we are waiting on the liquid form coming, hopfuly he will like that better.if not we will just have to try the capsules. the doctor won`t be very pleased as i have been at her to get the liquid for months and she finally gave in and ordered it so i hope to god jason takes to it.
jason also takes melatonin 3mg at night to help him sleep. it works a treat.
He loves to watch videos over and over [sing along ones] loves being read to and looking at books.
he is quite a happy wee soul most of the time
but about every three months he seems to get very depressed, crying, sreaming a lot both in school and at home. it lasts about 6-7 weeks. does your son get like that is his name jed?
jason does not have any speech apart from saying some words from his books when asked to. but he understands everything that is said, even understands me, i have a bad speech defect due to a childhood illness only my family and close friends know what i am saying. it makes me happy that jason with all his problems can understand me. bye for now thanks for all your help http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wave.gif

Trisha,
Yes, his name is Jed. He is 5 1/2 and he doe's have days when he is a little monster. Right now he seems to have days when he is just bouncing off the wall and others when he is calm. I really cannot figure out what causes this. His diet is pretty controlled since he is on the cf/gf diet and has other allergy problems with foods which we avoid also. I'm just wondering if it could be something in the environment that I cannot control. It is strange since it is not all the time.
Jed will be starting kindergarten this fall. He will be in Special Ed for this coming year and the teachers and diagnostitions think he will be mainstreamed by next year. I hope they are right. He has come a long way in just a short amount of time. His speech, fine motor skills and social skills continue to improve tremendously. Right now he seems to be learning that he is an independent person and tells me "I'm not going to do it" or "you do it" or "I'm not". I'm told that this come along with improved speech (which makes sense if you think about a 2 or 3 year old learning to talk and saying NO). I'm very proud of him and continue to look for methods to help him overcome his problems. So far, I have been pleased with the results we have gotten with his speech therapy, Occupational therapy with sensory integration, music therapy, his psychologist appointments for social skills, vitamin therapy with the help of a nutritionist, his allergies getting under control and this friday he will be evaluated to see if he can get a behavioral therapist. It is alot of work. But when you see great results it keeps you motivated to continue. I hope you get the results you are looking for in the vitamin therapy you are about to try. Good luck and keep me posted.

hey girls..very interisting info about diet. My Cameron is 5 in two weeks, high functioning autistic, a savant and hyper..mercury is on my mind..dark greens, spinach, broccili, etc. adhere to the heavy metals and carry them out of the body..raw mushrooms suck up toxins also. {same as detox for lead} In America they sell milk with acidophillos {sp?} added. what about yogurt? no more tuna fish..I read shark also has a lot of mercury in it.also bone meal calcium tablets contain high amounts of lead..use only OYSTER SHELL calcium suppliments...parsley is the highest form of GOOD iron for humans..it can actually repair damaged liver cells, thus helping the body rid itself of heavy metals..I am detoxing my son, with natural vitamins, and herbs..any info is welcome..good luck and God bless. Cindy,
It great to go as natural as you can but for my son ... he is allergic to milk and dairy products so milk and yogurt is out of the question. All the veggies are great ideas if you can get your child to eat them. I cannot get Jed to eat them. That is why I have hired a nutritionist to help. As for mercury, Jed has had his hair tested twice for mercury and not a trace was detected. Thats not saying it is not there...it is not showing up. Sometimes mercury can bind to cells so tightly that the only way mercury will show up is thru chelation.
