Can anyone tell me about how long it will take to boost my metabolism working with weights? I've been reading that they've done studies where people gain about 3 pounds in the first 8 weeks of strength training. I do want to gain muscle, and thats all well and good, but how long until I have enough where I can begin eating a little more? 2 weeks? 4? ANy help would be greatly appreciated.

It's a very individual process. could be 2 weeks, could be 8. Depends on your body and its specific needs and tendencies as well as factoring in how you are eating and exercising. There isn't really a formula to figure this out, but as weight/mass goes up, the more calories are needed to maintain it.
