I have been really sick for 5 weeks with the following symptoms: dizziness, weakness, fatigue, diarrhea, stomach gurgling, and weight loss. I have also had some joint pain/soreness and in the mornings my symptoms are all worsened; as the day progresses I usually feel better. I have been to my dr. a few times and he has done bloodwork (all normal) and stool cultures (all normal). He has referred me to a gastro this Friday. I am 46 years old and I used to stay quite constipated, but would have diarrhea when I was on my period. I am peri-menopausal which is a lot of fun in itself. LOL
Does this sound like symptoms of Crohn's? No one in my family has Crohn's. I really hope someone will respond to this~~I am desperate to communicate with someone who has any symptoms such as these.
Thanks!

Thanks for your response. I didn't mention, but I have been hypothyroid for 23 years and take Synthroid. I see an endocrinologist every six mos. and just had a complete workup as I thought these all sounded like thyroid-like symptoms. Everything was normal~~or at least in line with what my results have been for the past twenty years.
I have wondered about hormones, though. I am due to see my gynecologist next month. What kinds of tests should I ask him for?

I have the same problems and am only 34. I am already peri-menopausal. I also have chronic fatigue/fibromyalgia although I'm not agreeing with all that. I know that IBS symptoms and stomach troubles go with chronic fatigue and fibro, but when you can't get enough nutrition I would think the weakness and tiredness and dizziness could be caused by that also. I find when my IBS is not acting up and I can eat, I feel better all over. I get diarrhea after my period with lots of other stomach troubles up until ovulation. Then I feel a little better until the bloating and PMS starts, so basically I get one good week out of 4. I am very frustrated because no one has been able to help me. I've had all the tests and there's nothing wrong.
