Hi,
Does anyone know of any publications or similar that have looked at this inability to perceive dangerous or risky situations? I'd be hugely grateful if anyone could help me out.

Thanks,
alice

Hello,

I have not heard of any publications. Have you tried social stories?

Hi Alice, what 'flavor' of autism are you working with. My son is high-functioning PDD, ADHD with Autistic like symptoms. He has a high non-verbal IQ and average (98) verbal IQ (scince he has been on the GFCF diet) I feared for the first 5-6 years for his life on a daily basis then as 7 rolled around, he began having anxieties and fears and became afraid to do anthing life threatening! Life is much calmer around here, he began buspar for anxiety and serzone for depression, and continued with ritilin and risperdal. How old is your child. Meme
