Ever since I heard of my son having autism I've joined this site and I have been educating myself trying to understand and be able to help my child with this, it has been very hard for us especailly on my husband and I have to be the one to read and look into everything so that we can get educated a bit on this because he is still yet to see a neurologist anyhow we had been told by the team of doctors who did an evaulation at school because he is going on three and he was born at 27 weeks premature he has been getting early intervention the speech, ot, & developemental that finishes once he's three so when he gct evaulated they tld us they saw that he looks like he is austistic although they said mild we still worried and took him his doctor who also saw a mild case of autisim with our child so now we are waiting to see a neuoloist (?) and we will take it from there but in the mean while I have been reading and I am just wondering if anyone's has tried or heard of bio feed? Again this is all new to me and I'm trying to gather as much as I can so when I see the neurologist I can ask about all these things.

Do you mean Biofeedback EEG? If so, Yes, my son has that done every Saturday. It's great for better concentration, relaxation, and it helps with the hyper-ness.

My son just turned 6 a couple weeks ago. I'm not doing biofeedback as much as he needs it. He's been doing it for about 4 months, however, I'm taking him to a naturalpathic practioner who specalizes in naet (allergy elimination tecnique) and she does biofeedback and so she just throws that service in to calm him down before a naet treatment. It seems to help for a couple days and then he gets hyper again. That is because to do biofeedback effectivly, it should be done every day....so people say two-three times a day. By doing this, you can retrain the brain and you can be calm and relaxed and more focused. It's costly too, if you do it every day. And insurance won't cover it. Practioners charge between $35 -$50 per half hour! So can you imagine spending that every day. Anyway, the machines are easy to work, and it's easy to learn about the brain waves. You can rent a machine....I cut and copied some info on that below. Or you can even by a Brain Master biofeedback eeg machine. They run from $1200 brand new, but you can use it as much as you like and then sale it afer several months when your son starts to focus, and settle down. Biofeedback is the best thing if your child is hyper. Alot of people put there kids on meds, such as ritlin to calm them down. Ritlin my be a quick fix, but after a week of doing biofeedback, and doing it everyday, the brain will be calmed naturally and drug free. I'm actually planning on buying my own machine in October when my husband gets his bonus at work....so then he will be doing the biofeedback trainning daily
