And the saga continues! I have posted in here as you know concerning meds I cant take ect; I will recap!Having been found I have 3 narrow arteries blocked, too small for stents ect!I have been taking, these meds:
6:am-.01 mg clonidine,30mg isosorbicide,.25mg HCTZ,2.5mg lisinipril.

1pm-30mg isorsorbide

2pm-1mg clonidine and 10pm-1mg clonidine.
from this schedule you can see I take the most in the am and this is when I have the most trouble. The distolic reading(2nd)and the pulse beat go way down too low!The distolic goes down in the 60,s at times, and the pulse will be as low as 46,ect! This is why in the am when the meds kick in I feel my worst instead of better. I am always afraid to go anywhere until it wears off.
very tired, nauseous,ect!
Is the distolic pressure when the blood is on its way BACK to heart???
I cannot take higher doses and this is about as low a dose as I can go.Any have similar problems like this??Thank you, akjoha

Akjoha,
Diastolic pressure is when your heart is fully relaxed and pressure in your vessels is lowest. All these meds can relax the blood vessels and thus make your pressure lower. See if your doctor will take you off the clonidine. This med is well known to cause tiredness(extreme in some cases-especially at your dose) & probably also can cause nausea. DO NOT-I repeat-DO NOT discontinue any meds without your doctor's OK. If your doctor will not listen to you, find another doctor.

I misspelled diastolic?!I had been off the boards for awhile so didnt respond to your answer! It seems as though the clonidine may be causing the problem with the second reading!!I know this lowers the second pressure quickly; however if I do not take it every 8 hrs pressure goes up again! The scariest feelings is perhaps an hour after all 4 meds in the am!, once the diastolic pressure goes back up I feel better.would you have any opinion on maybe going back to taking the lisinipril at night as I used to, perhaps there are too many at one time?? I do see Dr on 19th, mostly quacks in my opinion who never even know the reactions from different drugs.
The list of drugs and timnes is in beginning posts. Thank you , I guess I have become a pest !lol!akjoha

akjoha,

Please post what you have posted here under High/Low Blood Pressure for Zip2play or Zuzu8, they have helped me tremendously over my medications, and are quite knowledgeable about hypertension medications. They may be able to give you some insight.

Good idea about the lisinopril at bedtime. Try it. You are not a pest! Let us know how your appointment went.

Thank you for your replies! I do believe I have had some good advice from the 2 you mentioned! Better than the Drs I go to!
Differnet Dr (mine is on maternity leave) has put me back on HYZAAR 100-25.
I am not to take Lisinipril or HCTZ. He changed the times I was taking IsorsorbicideMon. to later in the day and evening, and Clonidine has been dropped to 2 times a day . The HYZAAR I will take in the morning. So we shall see what happens now, just hope no emergency room trip!!lol!
Any opinions as to the Hyzaar? , I know it is 3 in one and I like the once a day.Thank you ,akjoha
