We use a generic prozac with my daughter (4 yrs old) and have had no problems. It's called fluoxitine and has been a blessing for her and us.

I have a 10 year old boy with autism. We put him on Prozac at the end of school for some mild behavior problems. It has done wonders for him. He is talking more, he is doing better in school and he is starting to "wake up" as my husband puts it. He is really becoming part of the world around him for the first time. I can't say enough about it. If you have any other questions you may want to call Dr. Patty Manning at Children's Hospital in Cincinnati. She really explained Prozac to me and made me feel better about it.
Hope this helps

All kids respond different but my older 2 went INSANE on it. It was like autism x 100.

My 8 year old is on 40 mg of fluoxitine and it has done wonders. The doctor wanted to increase it to 60 mg but to watch for any side affects (none so far). It makes me a little nervous though - what dosage is your son on?
