Does anyone else get an itchy rash on their stomach? I've been using Lamisil and OTC cortisone cream, but I can't get rid of it completely. I think it's hormonal b/c I never had this before menopause. I've had it under my boobs before, but right now it's JUST on my stomach. I saw the Dermatologist about a yr. ago and he said it's a heat rash with a little bit of yeast thrown in. He first prescribed a cream that was too strong and made the itching worse. That's when he told me to use Lamisil and OTC cortisone cream. I'd really like to find something natural. Does anyone have any suggestions? The more I worry about it, the worse it's going to get. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi Sunshine,
I have had itchy skin lots of times. Years ago, mine looked like little flea bites - more like hives than a rash I guess. My dermo thought it was sabies, but it wasn't. I had it all over my back, under bra line, stomach area and it lasted a long time. The elastic on the underwear didn't help either. Dr. prescribed me Doxapin (sp), which is an antihistamine which knocks you out, and a cortisone cream. It was stress related for me. It lasted a long time. Soaked in oatmeal baths - sometimes several times a day, also used Gold Bond anti-itch powder. I know how miserable you must be feeling!!!

I will get itchy in the stomach area once in a while now and I think it is heat related. Right way, I put cold compresses on it, think it reduces the inflammation and I put some Elidel on it (it's cortisone cream for eczema). I try not to scatch cuz it makes it worse. Worrying and scatching it will make it worse. It is a vicious circle!!

Hi Molly:

Thanks for your reply. I think it's heat-related also. Mine kind of look like hives too, but more like semi-permanant ones. lol. If it doesn't get better, I'll have to see the Dermatologist again. I do take Aveeno baths, but I'll have to start taking them more often. I wrote down what you use and will ask the Derm. about these things for me. Thanks again and I hope you can keep the lovely bumps away too.
