I was wondering if anyone can provide some insight as to what can be done about a twitchy eyelid(absolutely annoying!!!). My upper left eyelid has been twitching on and off slightly for about a month now. I did go see an optemetrist and she said that since I am a computer professional and only get about 5 hours of sleep a night, the nerves in my eye are overworked and tired.

She also says that I need to get it out of my mind. I do try that and the moment I tell myself its gone, it comes back for little and then goes away.

My question is if anyone has anymore insight as to what can be done? Is it serious if it has lasted this long? Should I make an appointment with an Opthamalogist?

Any insight would be really helpful!

Thank you.

This weekend I was hardly on the computer and got to rest a bit and my stress level was lowered. Therefore my eyelid hardly twitched. However, since I got back to work today, my eyelid has started to twitch a bit.

Could this be that its all in my mind that I'm telling myself that I am at work and I'm stressed?

If anybody could provide some insight, that would be great!

Thank you.

My Doctor told me it was stress. Sometimes hives, sometimes irritable bowel, etc. Mine one Christmas season was the twitchy eyelid. It went on for the whole season. Once Christmas time was over, and I could relax, it left. I really don't know if your computer work has anything to do with it, but if you are only getting 5 hours of sleep a night, I'm sure you ARE stressed. Good luck to you...hope you get to unwind soon!
