Is there anything in regards to bowel movements that can cause people to be dizzy/lightheaded all the time? I know that can be the case with diarrhea. What about if you have to go more than once a day with the stool still being formed, although not this not being a thing that happens daily(every few days, once a week, more than a week, etc.)? Also, is it good to take lactaid or imodium?

Hi Tallman,

I have not heard of BMs causing that --- it is usually related to Sinus problems or inner ear problems --- there must be hundreds of reasons???

If you are having these problems --- you need to get it ckecked out by a Doctor!!

As you know Lactaid is used to reduce milk sugar for people that are lactose intolerant and it is certainly OK to use. It is even used in milk that is sold as lactose reduced but it's OK to use for other dairy products as well!!

Imodium is used to stop diarrhea when needed but I think it is for occational use. Some people think you can use it daily but the manufacturer does not recommend it!! I called them-- but some doctors do recommend it. If you need to use it alot--- I think you need to find out the problem and correct it.

Alot of diarrhea WILL cause malabsorption problems as well as deplete electrolytes.

Take care ---Harry

If you strain when having a bowel movement, you trigger an autonomic response in the body known as "vasovagal", this can cause you to feel like you are going to pass out; or even pass out. However, it passes and doesn't last all day.

If you are feeling light headed and dizzy all the time, then you should be getting yourself checked out. I have high blood pressure and part of my symptoms were feeling dizzy and light headed and "fuzzy headed".
