I have IBS and cannot tolerate alcohol. However, I would really like to drink occassionally socially. Does anyone know which alcoholic beverages cause the least amount of discomfort? I am usually nauseated before I can even feel any pleasant effects of drinking...
I cant really answer the question.... But the only alcohol I drink is Beer, and I dont like the way it makes me feel. I used to drink 6-12, now I drink 1-2 and even then I feel pretty awful the next morning.
I think Beer is different to wines/spirits though, Beer is full of yeast which plays on Candida etc... I cant see the problem with wine/spirits, but then we would have to ask somebody who drinks them regularly?

I cant drink beer at all. It has the same affect on my stomach that soda does. PAIN, PAIN, PAIN.
However, I can drink wine with no problems at all. Thank God. Its the only thing that calms me down. I drink it all the time and never have issues with it. In fact, sometimes, it even helps my spasms.

I've only recently (1 week now) developed an aversion for beer/alcohol - I get nausea too. I wonder if I can figure out how to reverse that. Prior to that though, I was able to take 10 drinks - not that I did that, that often, but it was fun on the occasion.
