View Full Version : Strange fits of vision loss

This may sound bizarre, but I honestly have no idea if something is wrong with my eyes or if this is normal.

Sometimes if I am laying down or even sitting up and I suddenly get right up on my feet, I get terribly dizzy; I can't keep my balance very well so I have to stand in one place rather than walk. Also, my vision will become clouded and distorted (I see numerous shades of grey and purple and it looks like clouds) and I can see what I would describe to be "sparkles" in these clouds (bright twinkling white specks). This only lasts a few seconds and then everything is back to normal.

Is this normal? Could I be experiencing vertigo?

I believe it's normal.....I get that too if I stand up to fast and have a 'dizzy spell'....only my vision completely goes...from the outside inwards...within five seconds all is good once again.

Probably has something to do with the sudden blood rush to/from the head....that's just a guess though :p

I experience the same thing all the time.
It doesn't really bother me, though.
