For the 2nd time in 3 months, I have sores in my mouth... one on lower lip, two on roof of mouth, three on tongue (top, tip, underneath). They came back in exactly the same spots. The first time dr. said unlikely to be H on tongue & wasn't sure what it was. This time different dr. said very probably H, drew blood for various IG tests, and prescribed Valtrex.

My real question? What can I do for the pain and burning? Is there anything that helps if it is swished in the mouth? It has been a very miserable 3 days and I am anxious to find anything that may provide some relief. Eating & drinking almost anything is extremely uncomfortable, & the burning & aching tongue is driving me crazy.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Try swishing your mouth with garlic oil--quarter a clove or two of garlic, and then cover them with olive oil. Let sit for about 2 hours (or much more.) Start swishing. See if it helps. I have genital h, but it always soothes my sores.
