I think that it means that they couldn't get a good reading on the margins of the piece they took out during the LEEP. I don't think it means you had margins that weren't clear (i.e. that they didn't get all of the dysplasia) but it does mean that they can't tell one way or the other. This may be because the dysplasia extended close to the margin but the actual margin was burnt from the LEEP procedure. The endocervical refers to the margin on the bottom of the cone piece (the edge that extends up towards the uterus). It is entirely possible that you 1) had clear margins but they couldn't tell or 2) didn't have clear margins but the "burning" from the LEEP still managed to get rid of all of the bad cells that are left. Unfortunately, its also possible you still have dysplasia on your cervix. I imagine you will just have to wait until your next pap to find out. However, make sure you ask your doctor about followup treatment. It is most likely she will have you wait for the next pap (just in case of 1 or 2 above) but it is also possible that she will suggest more aggressive treatment - i.e. another cone or hysterectomy (depending on your desire to bear children). Please be very vigilent about getting follow-up as unclear margins (meaning they didn't get all of the dyplasia) is the single biggest predictor for reoccurance of the problem.
