View Full Version : Lots of eye problems.

Hey. I've had quite a few eye problems lately and I thought I'd ask if anyone could relate to any of these, or could tell me what might be causing them, or if they could help out in any way.

Problem I

I began noticing my eye problem just under a week ago. I have worn glasses since 1998, and have had fairly decent vision since, and was shocked by the problems that began. I noticed what was going on when I looked at the white part of the monitor and noticed that it didn't actually seem "white". There seemed to be a tinge of blue or black or something. It's hard to explain, but I still see it. I then decided to look at some other things (the wall, sheets, pieces of paper, etc.) and noticed that what I saw was kind of like a pulsating or "vibrating" cloud of opaque blue/black. It's extremely hard to explain. Anyway, I decided to head to an eye doctor, and she dilated my pupils and said that I'm probably having floaters, but that the retina had no damage to it. So, my main worry is...is this even what happens when you have floaters? I mean, I've seen those little things floating around when you're looking into a bright light or something, but when you're just looking around like you normally do...does it actually make it look like everything's sort of cloudy or static-y? Also, what came along with this was a pain that felt like it was behind my eye. It was an ache, but it seems to have gone away. The doctor said that it was probably just because I used the computer everyday for about 10 hours and probably developed computer eyestrain. However, now what I close my eyes I see a rainbow and it's really weird. I was thinking that it was because of the colors on the monitor, because if I look closely I can see the little colors (red, green, and blue) and those are the only colors I see in this "rainbow". Heh. Maybe I just need to take a break from the computer.

Problem II

In October I looked into my inner eyelid and saw a few bumps. At first, I thought it wasn't a problem so I just ignored it. Now, it completely slipped my mind until I looked again today, months later. Anyway, I still had the bumps. They're the same size so I guess they're not expanding or anything, but they're confusing me. They're very smell, about the size of the head of a larger needle or something. They're the same color as the eyelid, and they don't hurt the eye or anything. Does anyone have any idea what these are, or if they pose a threat or anything?

That's all. Any help would be extremely appreciated.

Whenever you are doing very close work for many hours a day, even if your visiion is perfect it is important to wear reading glasses, otherwise you are straining your eyes towards myopia and many discomforts.

I have seen different shades of color out of each eye since I was born.
I asked for an explanation many times and received many answers. About 15 years ago there was a small article in the Science section of the NY Times
which said that lifelong color differences are cause by a different amino acid existing in the pupil. In your case I would guess your are straining the rod cones in your retina. You can buy store bought reading glasses. Try out one diopter. Lyle
