Hello, I'm a 15 year old girl told last year that I may have SVT. I had three episodes of tachycardia in a period of two months last year, but it hasn't happened since. All of these episodes happened right when I went to shoot a basketball. I was sent to a pediatric cardiologist because I also had a heart murmur and sinus arrhythmia (both said to be okay), but both doctors said that it is probably just a coincidence that it happened all three times while shooting a basketball. Is this possible? Thanks, Kelly T.

I don't think it's a conincidence and probably occurred because you are exerting yourself during a game. Probably your adrenaline level and heartrate are up so an attack at times like these seems more probable to me.
Perhaps it has something to do with quickly raising your arms overhead? (But that's a REAL stab in the dark.)

Thanks for responding, zip! I have heard that changing positions can also change heart rate, such as standing up too quickly, so maybe it can also happen shooting a basketball and throwing your arms up quickly. I don't understand why they say it's just a coincidence. I go back to the cardiologist at the end of May. I'll update then. I'm still very insterested in anything anyone has to say about this, so please continue posting! Thanks so much.
