View Full Version : Another Chest Pain ?...

I am under an insane amount of stress right now, and I oten experiene mild panic and anxiety attacks.

I've always experienced heart papultations, but now, it seems as if they are getting more frequent, and I am even having a pain in my chest; moreso on the right side, sometimes on the left.

I have a Dr.'s appt. tomorrow, but whenever I have ran the papultations by her before, she has just excused them as stress. Should I ask her to run some tests on me? I know it is possible for young people to have heart attacks, but it seems as if Dr's think it's impossible or think I am overreacting.

Should I be worried? My grandpa AND my uncle both suffered from heart attacks last year.

BTW, I am a female, 20 years old, don't excersize very much but I am not overweight, I also eat ALOT of fast foods :)

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Amber,
If you've never had it done I think it would be wise for your doctor to at least run an ECG on you to see if there's anything glaringly obvious that you need to know about.

If he won't do this and won't give you a referral to someone who can, get a new doctor.

If your insurance company will pick up the tab, then maybe a stress test might be a good idea, but often the companies will :nono: the idea for anyone so young without clearer danger signals. Get one if you can.

I agree with zip2play. Also when he tells you there is nothing wrong believe him. I have a problem with stress and anxiety and I have chest pains. I have had all the tests and there is nothing wrong. It is due to stress. When I stopped worrying about it, the pain got much better.
