I went to my optomologist cause my eyes seemed top be bothering me and I got headaches occassionally. She said that due to me switching my contact solutions various times that I causes an irratation/redness under my eyelid.
So,,,,she out me on Prednisolone Acetate and patanol for one month. for the past week she told me to only take patanol
Lately I feel that my eyes/head hurt. I get headaches often everyday that are not relieved by advil or tylenol. Called my dr and she said to stop taking the patanol, but she said headaches are a rare side effect and i should not be getting them. The ache i feel is an ache, pressure kinda esp in the morning then just this constant dull ache. Also my eyes sometimes feel really dry or irrartated often when i close them. I'm not sure if this is head related or eye related.

I was a contact lense wearer for like over 12 years, and then last May, I developed dry eye disorder, which in addition to making my eyelids swell, and making my eyes scratchy and dry , would give me headaches like you are describing. One time I even called the emergency room b/c I thought I was having a migraine. I had been misdiagnosed with allergies instead of dry eye and was also prescribed patanol.
I would talk to your doctor about your dry eye symptoms. You may need to stop wearing your lenses for the time being until you get the dry eye under control. Hope this helps!

yeah. Well I haven't worn my contacts for 2 months because she told me not to due to an irratation they caused underneath my eyelid. That's why she gave me patanol. She also gave me systane,,,,but I feel that that the headaches come from taking patanol for 1.5 months,,,
did you get headahes from that?...are u better now?

sorry..I missed the fact that you aren't wearing your lenses. I haven't been able to wear mine for over a year now (and I hate it). I also use systane, and I do not get headaches from that, so its my guess also that it is either the patanol or a side effect of your eyes being so dry. Did she tell you that the irritation under your eyelid was called a kind of conjunctivitis? Just wondering b/c they initially told me that as well b/c I also had bumps. My problems started virtually overnight. One day I was riding in my boyfriend's car and felt like something had gotten under my contact, the next I had all these eye problems.
My headaches are gone now but I still have dry eye, and I have tried EVERYTHING. Basically my eyes feel somewhat fine unless I try to put lenses in. My eyes are red sometimes and I have mild light sensitivity.
I hope you get some answers and your headaches stop. I know it is really frustrating. And I'm about 25 and everyone thinks its insane that I am having these problems.
