My son is almost 21 months and we are going through the "working diagnosis" phase right now. He is going to be seeing a Dev Ped in a few months where I will hopefully get some answers. Right now he has been diagnosed with Dysphagia, Apraxia, Aphasia, and SID.
I am wondering if anyone with an ASD diagnosis dealt with SID first or if they deal with both conditions. I don't know if he really has ALL of these conditions or if they will fall into an umbrella diagnosis.
EI is coming on Thursday and we are seeing OT weekly but ST was denied by our insurance. We are in the appeal process now. I am wondering what I can be doing with him at home. I am also wondering who does feeding therapy, the OT or the ST, because since he has the oral issues and the dysphagia, he gags and chokes. I think feeding therapy will really help this.
Any ideas would be appreciated
