I have been trying to conceive with no luck. I have been to the dr to get my mucus checked and he told me I was ovulating and that i needed to have intercourse that day. Well I did but still no pregnancy. He did mention that i next step will be Clomid. I'm a little worried about it. Will it cause any side effects? How about skin problems. I already have acne and rosacea. But I if I get pregant I will be so happy. I already have a 5 year old that I didn't even try to get pregnant with, he just happened. Thank God for him. I don't understand why i can't get pregnant again. My periods are weird but I have discussed that with 2 doctors but they don't see a problem with that. I start off very light and then get a little heavier for a day and then back to my mini pads. But when I'm light, if i have a bowel movement, there is a lot of blood in the tolet but not on my panty liner. Anyone else ever have this problem? Also what kind of hormone is Clomid and if I'm already ovulating, what will it do? I want another baby so bad.

I don't know alot about Clomid, you can probably access this info on the web by searching or talk with your Doctor. I did take one cycle of Clomid, but I didn't have any skin problems, but I was only on in for one cycle. I am however having acne problems with my pregnancy, but its not to bad, and definately worth it!! I was seeing a infertility specialist after not being able to conceive for over a year. Of course I had testing and turned out had to have a septum removed from my uterus. Then I still didn't get pregnant and I had regular periods but didn't think I was ovulating. I went back the the Dr with that concern and he gave me Clomid. I was very lucky that it worked the first time, he had told me it could take up to 6 cycles so I was in disbelief when it worked the first time.
As far as your problem w/ AF, I am not sure, I never had that problem, so if you get no more responses maybe check with your Doctor. I do wish you baby dust!!! Goodluck, and I pray the Lord will bless you.

Thanks so much for your reply and your prayer. Prayers are the best gift to give someone. I think I might try the clomid. I'm going to give my dr a call.
When I was pregnant with my son I broke out bad my first trimester. My second trimester it started looking better and then my third trimester my skin looked so much better. No more acne but red spots from left over acne. Did u have acne before pregnancy? I wish u all the luck in your pregnancy. I am thankful that I do have one child. God Bless!!!

Sharp, I also don't know much about clomid, but I took it for one cycle and got my BFP. I guess the way I understand it is if you are ovulating then it helps produce a better egg maybe? Like I said my doctor was very optimistic about it even though I was ovulating also. Good luck on your ttc journey, its definately a roller coaster.
As for the side effects, it can increase acne, mood swings, cause abdominal cramping and a few others, but I really didn't have too much of a problem with them.
Good luck!!!! Baby dust to you and all the other ttcers

i have a few answers to your clomid questions. i have taken it for 2 months now, unfortunately with no success. My side effects were mainly hot flashes and dryness but the doc gave me an estrogen patch to help with that. When i get my period my doc will up my dosage of clomid to 150mg. I am hoping that i will at last have my baby success. I asked my doc about how well his other patients did with clomid and he said they did very well. He was very encouraging. I hope things will go well for me this next month, and I hope very much you have your own baby success.

50 mg is enough for some and not for others! I know its hard but try not to dwell on it, it just adds stress! I took the 1 cycle of 50 mg and it worked wonderfully for me, I got my BFP. But I went into thinking it wouldn't work for a while cause my Dr. told me it could take up to 6 cycles normally.

I'm on my second cycle of clomid. I didn't know you could take it more than 4 cycles. All this is new to me. It's sooo confusing. I bought the clear blue easy monitor & when I get a peak I will try :bouncing: BMS! I wish I had more clues abt the effects this drug is having on my ovaries. How do I know if it is helping me? Is anyone being monitored on this stuff? I had anxiety the 1st time & a hard time sleeping. Sorry guys, I guess I'm just having a bad moment. I took it on cd 5-9 the 1st time (100mg) & this try my RE said I could try 1-5 or 3-7....any thoughts?
