If anyone can give me possible diagnosis of this problem I would be eternally grateful.
For the past year I wake up in the morning and on either side of my tongue, or sometimes both, it feels and looks like it's swollen as if it were a very painful bruise. This lasts for 3-4 days. I also get a rash of some sorts in the areas of my face, neck, and shoulder. This rash looks as if little blood vessels that have burst. This usually goes away after a day. Finally, I feel disoriented, I can't remember what day it is, what time it is, ect. It's like this problem effects my memory for that morning. Then I'm usually fine towards the end of the day.
This will occur only when I wake up in the morning, so something is happening while I'm asleep for that night. It also will only occur during the weekday. Usually it's Tues., Wed., or Thur. I've wondered if it's due to the drinking of alcohol on the weekends. I normally go out with friends and just have a few drinks, but I'm unsure if this could really be the cause of this very strange and frustrating reoccurrence.
I've already visited numerous physicians, and oral surgeons countless times to no avail. The only encouraging news is that the oral surgeon took a biopsy of my "bruised" tongue, and it came up negative. Still this problem continues to persist every other week on average.
Can ANYONE please give me ANY idea what this could possibly be, and what type of physican can actually help me!?

It's hard to say what you have. It seems like you are presenting 3 different complaints which may not even be related to each other.
For your rash issues, I suggest you see a dermatologist.
For your memory issues, a neurologist may be helpful.
For your tongue issues, you may try an ENT expert even though oral surgeons should have been more helpful than they did to you. What did they say you had?
Did you have any dental work done lately? This could be somewhat related if you did. Also, alcohol can definitely cause your disorientation and perhaps even your mouth problems if you exaggerate with the amount. But these effects shouldn't last all the next week if you only drink on weekends, especially a few drinks as you mentioned.
Good luck

Hi Tdajon, maybe you should see a specialist about allergies. This all sound like some kind of allergy to me. You have to look at what you do, eat and drink daily and start the process of elimination. And keep a diary of the things you do and the things you eliminate, and note if you make progress with your symptoms. Could also be spring allergies. Good luck and please keep us posted. Marti
